Seongsu Station is a key rapid transit station on Seoul Subway Line 2, located in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It opened on October 31, 1980, as part of the first phase of Line 2’s construction and serves as the southeastern terminus of the Seongsu Branch, which connects to Sinseol-dong. The station is elevated and features two island platforms with four tracks. The main circle route of Line 2 uses the inner tracks, while the Sinseol-dong branch line uses the outer tracks. Seongsu Station has four exits, providing access to nearby residential areas, commercial zones, and local parks. Exits 1 and 2 are close to the Seongsu Lotte Castle apartment complex and a riverfront park, while Exits 3 and 4 serve mixed-use buildings and the Seongsu E-mart. The surrounding area, once primarily industrial, is now a vibrant mix of commercial, residential, and creative spaces. Within 200 meters of the station are several small community parks, such as Seongsu Green Park and Hyanglim Park. The station is also linked to local bus routes and a shuttle bus serving nearby apartment complexes, making it a convenient hub for commuters and residents alike. Seongsu Station is part of the original Line 2 network, which forms a circular route connecting major districts across Seoul. The station’s design allows passengers to walk the full length of the platform without passing through ticket gates, and facilities include shops and restrooms for passenger convenience.
