Construction Alert:
The City of Myrtle Beach began an Outfall Project on 24th Ave North on October 1, 2024, and the project is expected to run through 2026. This project broke ground in the public lot, between the Dayton House Resort South Building and Suites Building. A trestle was constructed that extends into the ocean. The purpose of this project is to replace eleven stormwater pipes currently, consolidating them into one large pipe that will extend 1,500 feet into the ocean. This will help eliminate potentially harmful runoff water on the beach and to prevent flooding after strong storms.
Guests may experience periods of brief, intermittent daytime noise as the city works to complete the project. We appreciate your understanding as the city works to improve the safety and cleanliness of our beautiful beach.
