Korora / little blue penguins - nest-cam live

Live footage of New Zealand Little Blue Penguins / Kororā in a nestbox. This colony is in Taranaki, New Zealand, and is part of a monitoring project run by the community. The nesting birds are all microchipped so we know them individually. We keep an eye on their activities by using IR (infra-red) cameras as well as with weekly checks to scan the birds in the burrows. Each year during the chick-raising period we track birds with tiny GPS units to learn where the birds forage and what risks and threats they face.
