Sturgeon Watch: Mississippi River at Maple Island Access Area, Melvin Price Locks and Dam Camera #2

This camera is zoomed to a shoreline segment of the Maple Island Access Area which is situated immediately downstream from Melvin Price Locks and Dam on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River. This location is a known spawning location for lake sturgeon, a state endangered fish, and footage from this camera will allow researchers to observe and monitor the spawning behaviors exhibited by this species which may in turn inform future conservation efforts. This live stream is made possible through a partnership between the US Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Conservation, The Sustainable Rivers Program, and the Missouri Aquarium Society.
