📍A New Great Spot for Overlooking Taipei Basin: Weifeng Observatory
Formerly known as a military control area, Yuan Shan Scenic Area had been through a series of vegetation renewal and facility beautification projects, including the construction of Weifeng (Breeze) Observatory on Jiantanshan (Mt. Jiantan) in 2021. When standing on the observatory with a seemingly endless landscape view, you can see the landscape of Taipei Basin, including Tamsui River, Keelung River and Guanyinshan (Mt. Guanyin), in the distance; or the cultural landscape, such as Taipei Performing Arts Center, Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center, Shilin Night Market and the wooded roadway of Zhongshan North Road, in a close look. Whether it is a morning or sunset, Weifeng Observatory is definitely an excellent destination for tourists and citizens planning a one-day tour in Taipei!
